You are better of traveling in public transport as you won’t have any difficulty traveling in trains and buses also it would be cheaper. But if you want to explore the out skirts then I would suggest you go for a rental car. So it depends upon where you are planning to go and explore.

It is possible without a car. There is shuttle service (Flyaway) from the airport to downtown LA. From downtown, there is a subway to Hollywood and a train to Long Beach, as well as buses to most other parts of the county. You can definitely see LA without a car, as long as you plan your trip in advance and allow enough time.

I lived in LA most of my life.
I dont think you realize how large the LA Metro is.
If you use kilometers in Sweden, thats somewhat similar to miles ..that we use in the US. LA Metro area ( LA and Orange County)is about 85 miles long and 90 miles wide.
I wouldnt even think of being in LA w.o a car.
Im curious what you want to see in Long Beach, its a shipping port.
If you want to go to the beach.. Go to Malibu, Venice, Santa Monica, Zuma, Manhattan Beach,Hermosa Beach.
South bay- Beaches Huntington Beach, Laguna Beach
It would take you around an hour to drive from Hollywood to
Long Beach, assuming there’s no traffic snarls.

well due the fact los angeles is huge you could use public transit
like if you went from Hollywood to long beach
it would take you an over hour by using transit
when the same trip would take 20-30 minutes by car
another example if you wanted to go from los angeles to Disneyland- it would take 3 hours
and thats on one bus!
yes it better to try get around with out car [no worry about parking tickets, some rental agency
may not recognized your Scandinavian driver license [which would be valid in the u

Getting around Los Angeles by public transport OR with a rental car? _ Tips please ?
Hello guys
My family and I are planning a visit to LA in July and do not drive (We are coming from Scandinavian as tourists).
Many of the sites we wish to see are in Hollywood ,Long beach and some other tourist attraction places in L.A. Some say it is much better to get around in L.A. without a car, because of traffic, while other says it is not possible without a car in US.

Now we are just wondering, is it easy to get around in L.A. that using the Metro and buses or is it much better that we rent a car in advance?

actually the thing that has done the most damage to folklore and culture is the Christian faith. Do you realize how many gods have been labeled as demons simply because the Church wanted to be the only ones with power. Thousands of innocent people were murdered "in the name of God" simply because the practiced the old ways. but I know what you mean about Hollywood.

Massively. So many people, especially young people, don’t read books these days – they watch movies instead. Even the best movies are never perfectly faithful to the book. And watching a movie is a desperately passive way of being entertained. A book requires you to make an effort. Most people these days have been bred lazy.
