The favorable climate and good soil quality has made Jamaica favorable for plant cultivation. Various plant products grow Jamaica and because of this, agriculture is their major industry. The island is a leading exporter of various crops to many places around the world.

Some of the crops which are abundant in the place include coffee, bananas, sugar cane and coconuts. One of the factors of its easy cultivation is the climate. Other products were soon introduced to the island including rice, ginger and mangoes.

Mountains had thick forests which made room for various kinds of plant life. Areas with heavy rainfall had bamboo, ferns and a wide variety of trees. The dry areas had cactus and other dry area plants. Some parts of the island also had wide grasslands.

Bananas are also abundantly produced in the country. The moist regions of the island is favorable for this crop. Because of such production, the island is considered a leading banana exporter. Bananas are also an essential part of the people’s diet.

Being a tropical country, it is expected to be home for a lot of palm trees. There are plenty of coconuts in the island. These are used to make soap, edible oil and other products. Some of these are used for production in the local factories.

Truly, one can find various plant life which grow Jamaica. The richness of its soil and the favorable climate has very much contributed to this abundance. The people have gained much from their agriculture showing the world that nature can only give so much.
